How To Help

Other Ways to Give

Endowment Gifts

What is an endowed gift?
An endowed gift, or an endowment, is an invested fund that can be designated as either a full or term endowment.

Full Endowment
To establish a full, or perpetual, endowment, you must give at least $12,000, which assures in perpetuity an annual award of $500 in a donor-selected program area. You can give an initial gift of $12,000, or you can build an endowment with smaller gifts over time. The principal investment from a full endowment is never spent. Interest earnings from full endowments are used to support education and provide a secure source of program funding. Because of sound financial practices, a full endowment will perpetually support education, leaving a legacy in Lewisville ISD for years to come. You can also give property, IRAs, or other assets to fund your endowment.

Term Endowment
Donors agree to donate at least $500 per year for a period of 5 years in a donor selected program area. Term Endowments may be renewed and may also be designated for a specific program.

What can I support with my endowment?
Through your endowment, you can fund a scholarship or teacher fellowship, establish a teacher grant, and/or contribute to any of LEF’s Programs. Your endowment can also be unrestricted, allowing its earnings will be used where they are most needed.

What legacy will my endowment leave?
Endowments reflect the values and passions of the giver. If you desire to create a legacy for education in Lewisville ISD, consider creating an endowment. Your gift will change the lives of young people, both today and in the future. Endowments may be made as:

Memorials
Memorial endowments provide remembrance of a loved one or friend and are a permanent way to recognize the person’s life. Your gift not only pays tribute to the deceased but also establishes a gift to the continued educational excellence of Lewisville ISD through the established programs of LEF.

Honorariums
Honorarium endowments pay tribute to the living. There’s no better way to honor and say “thank you” to a colleague, friend, community leader, or family member than establishing an Honorarium Endowment to recognize that person’s contributions to the community or district. As with a memorial, this gift not only recognizes the honoree, but also establishes a gift to the continued educational excellence of Lewisville ISD through the established programs of LEF.

**For both memorial and honorarium endowments, the family or honoree will receive a gift acknowledgement recognizing the donor without divulging the amount of the gift. As a donor, the Foundation will send you a receipt for your records.

LEF can help write a donor agreement that reflects your values and passion for education. For more information or to discuss the establishment of an endowment, please contact our offices at 469-948-2013.

The Foundation has been designated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by the IRS. Donations made to the foundation are tax deductible as defined by the IRS Revenue Code.
