Randy Canivel, Ph. D.
Executive Director
Dr. Randy Canivel was named the fourth Executive Director for the Lewisville Education Foundation (LEF). Prior to LEF, he spent 20 years in higher education working in areas such as student affairs, instruction, and fundraising. Recently, Dr. Canivel served as Director for Midwestern State University at Flower Mound where he provided leadership in the areas of campus operations, enrollment management, and community partnerships. Dr. Canivel is no stranger to LEF, having served on the Board of Directors from 2019 to 2023 and volunteered as a scholarship reader. In addition, he served as the 2022 Chairman of The Board for the Lewisville-Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Canivel earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Midwestern State University in Business Administration and Kinesiology, respectively. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Higher Education Administration from Liberty University.
Dr. Canivel, and his wife, Lexi, are residents of Flower Mound and believe in community involvement and giving back. “Education is a major pillar and resource of any community” says Dr. Canivel. “It is our job [as citizens] to advocate and ensure its sustainability through stewardship and community partnerships.”
