Investing in the People Who Make Lewisville ISD Stronger
The Lewisville Education Foundation (LEF) supports Lewisville ISD staff members, both professional and paraprofessional, who wish to pursue higher education, certifications, and continued professional growth. Through the generosity of our donors, LEF awards fellowships to help LISD employees take the next step in their education while continuing to make a difference for our students and schools.
Fellowships are awarded based on donor-established criteria, which may include educational and career goals, area of study or certification, professional involvement, community involvement, and other specific qualifications.

2026-2027 Fellowship Application
Application Opens: January 1, 2027
Application Deadline: March 1, 2027
All required application materials must be submitted and received by LEF by the application deadline. Late or incomplete applications cannot be accepted.
Fellowships Available:
The following fellowships are anticipated for the 2026-2027 application cycle and are subject to change.
Dr. Jerry Roy Fellowships:
(2) $500 – Awarded to a staff member pursuing a higher education.
(1) $1,000 – Awarded to a staff member working towards their administrative certificate.
Dr. Kevin Rogers Honorary Fellowship, $500 – Awarded to any LISD teacher or staff member pursuing a higher education or certification.
LISD Employee Giving Fellowship, $2,000 – Awarded to any LISD teacher or staff member pursuing a higher education or certification.
Minnie Mae & Mack R. Bogard Teacher Fellowship, $500 – Awarded to an outstanding teacher who is active in professional and community activities.
Wayne Trammell Diagnostician Fellowship, $500 – Awarded to any LISD staff member seeking certification in the field of Educational Diagnostician or is in pursuit of a master’s degree in order to become a diagnostician.
Who Can Apply?
LEF Fellowships are available to eligible Lewisville ISD professional and paraprofessional staff members.
Specific eligibility requirements vary by fellowship. Depending on the fellowship, applicants may be pursuing:
- Higher education or an advanced degree
- Professional certification
- Education Diagnostician or a related master's degree
Applicants must meet donor-established criteria for the fellowship for which they are being considered and submit a completed application by March 1, 2027.
How It Works
1. Complete the Fellowship Application
Applicants will provide information about their current role in LISD, educational or certification plans, professional goals, and other information needed to determine eligibility for available fellowships.
- Reference - To ensure your reference has enough time; we encourage you to complete your application well before the deadline.
- Transcripts - Unofficial transcript will be uploaded by the applicant.
2. Applications Are Reviewed
Applications are reviewed according to the donor established criteria for each fellowship. LEF works to ensure that applicants are considered for the fellowship opportunities for which they meet the eligibility requirements.
3. Fellowship Notifications
All applicants will be notified by email in April regarding whether or not they have been awarded an LEF fellowship.
4. Fellowship Ceremony
Fellowship recipients will be recognized and presented their awards on stage during the LEF Scholarship Ceremony on April 20, 2027, at 6 p.m. in the Stuver Auditorium at Lewisville High School, 1098 West Main Street, Lewisville.
If you are awarded a fellowship, please plan to attend the ceremony.
5. Claiming Your Fellowship
Fellowship claim forms open May 1. Once your claim is submitted and approved, LEF will mail your fellowship payment directly to your college/program/institution to be applied toward eligible educational expenses. Detailed instructions will be given to all fellowship recipients before the claim period opens.
Please note: Fellowships that are not claimed within one year of being awarded will be forfeited.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are LEF fellowships only for teachers?
No. LEF fellowships support both professional and paraprofessional LISD staff members. However, individual fellowships may have specific eligibility requirements.
Do I need to apply separately for each fellowship?
No. Applicants complete the LEF Fellowship Application and are considered for all of the available fellowships for which they meet the established criteria.
What types of educational programs qualify?
Depending on the fellowship, eligible programs may include higher education, advanced degrees, professional certifications, administrative certification, or educational diagnostician certification.
When is the application open?
The 2026–2027 LEF Fellowship Application will be open January 1 through March 1, 2027.
When will I find out if I received a fellowship?
All applicants will be notified by email in April.
When will fellowship recipients be recognized?
Recipients will be recognized on stage at the LEF Scholarship Ceremony on April 20, 2027, at 6 p.m. at Lewisville High School.
