Allison Thornton is a 2014 graduate of Hebron High School and a recipient of the Hebron High School PTSA Scholarship. After graduating from Hebron, Allison went on to attend The University of Texas at Austin, a decision that launched a path spanning multiple cities, disciplines, and leadership roles across consulting, technology, and product development.
“I started college as a Business major in McCombs, eventually choosing to specialize in Marketing,” says Allison. “I found myself interested in both the creative and analytical aspects of that major.”
Outside the classroom, Allison stayed actively involved on campus. She served on the McCombs Diversity Council, which organized corporate field trips across Austin and to cities like Chicago and San Francisco, and worked on the McCombs Career Expo Board, helping plan career fairs attended by more than 2,000 students and 200 companies. She also returned to dance, auditioning into ballet classes to reconnect with a creative outlet she had missed and added a double major of French Language & Literature. In her junior year, she studied abroad in Paris at HEC.
“I highly recommend anyone to study abroad if they have the opportunity. It's a wonderful way to experience independence and learn who you are when you're out of your comfort zone,” she says.
In addition to a busy academic schedule, Allison also kept herself busy during the summers by interning with fashion and e-commerce startups in her freshman and sophomore summers. She ultimately took an internship with PwC her junior year, where she received a full-time offer as a Management Consultant in their Advisory practice.
“I still work for PwC, but down in New Orleans! I have worked on sales and service system transformations, on AI strategy development, and on product development (where I’m currently focused). I travel every other week to Chicago for my current client, where I work as a Product Manager for an AI-powered app that conducts medical and regulatory review for pharmaceutical promotional materials,” Allison explains. “I still dance at a local ballet studio and spend my weekends hanging out with my boyfriend in our beautiful neighborhood, eating the best seafood you could possibly imagine.”
Looking back, Allison reflects on the meaningful role that Lewisville ISD and the school communities played on her journey.
“I’m so grateful for my public-school education. I’m grateful to my parents for raising my sister and me in one of the most diverse North Texas suburbs and for devoting their time to driving us to all the extracurricular activities - for showing up. I’m grateful for the consistently inspiring teachers that saw potential in me and my peers and continued to challenge us. I’m grateful for the closeness of the LISD community that made me feel a sense of pride for marching in the HHS band, for writing for the Hebron Hawkeye student newspaper, for competing in UIL throughout elementary and middle school. There were so many opportunities to explore different areas of interest,” says Allison.
Receiving the LEF scholarship during her senior year also made a significant impact on her journey. Awarded during a time where her family was navigating financial uncertainty, Allison was determined to contribute for her future through her own efforts.
“I worked hard to make college an affordable reality. Receiving the LEF scholarship made that possible,” she says. “I so appreciate the LEF donors and supporters for believing in me and the impact that I could have on my broader community. I know it's a gamble to invest in a child’s future, but I hope to continue to pay it forward as I navigate through the world.”
As Allison continues her professional journey, her story reflects the lasting impact of opportunity, exploration, and support. We at the Lewisville Education Foundation are proud to have supported her educational path and to celebrate the ways she continues to build, lead, and give back.
