Highland Village Elementary Legacy Scholarship
Highland Village Elementary has been a special place in the hearts of students, staff, families and the community since 1981.
Under the leadership of Dan Holder the foundation was laid for Highland Village Elementary to become truly a community school.
When Mr. Holder retired, Dean Tackett took over. While Mr. Tackett was principal, Highland Village Elementary earned the National Blue Ribbon award. Following Mr Tackett as principals were: Dr. Penny Reddell, Sherry Hodges, Shawna Miller and Leslye Mitchell. Under these dedicated leaders and the staffs they selected, Highland Village became the “hidden jewel” of Lewisville ISD for 43 years.
To honor that special place and Viking spirit, a Lewisville ISD Education Foundation scholarship has been set up for high school seniors who attended HVE. Our goal is to get enough funds to give out a scholarship each year to a Viking.
The Highland Village Elementary Legacy Scholarship will ensure that the youngest Vikings remember that Once a Viking, Always a Viking.
