Jayden Simmons Fight On Scholarship

Jayden had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. Whether he was with a baby, a friend, or an adult, he had a gift for bringing joy, making people laugh, and helping others feel seen and loved.

Sports were one of Jayden's greatest passions. He loved soccer, basketball, football, and baseball, and he dreamed of one day becoming a professional athlete. If that wasn't in God's plan, he hoped to coach college football or work as a sports analyst, staying close to the game he loved.

It breaks my heart to say that those dreams were cut short.

In the fifth grade, Jayden was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. He endured a year of grueling treatment that ultimately led to the amputation of his right leg. Yet even in the midst of unimaginable hardship, Jayden remained positive, full of joy, and determined to make others smile. He never let cancer define him. Instead, he continued to pour into the people around him with laughter, kindness, and unwavering faith.

The cancer returned again and again. And every single time, Jayden chose to fight.

On January 22, 2024, at just 15 years old, Jayden Xavier Simmons took his final breath. He fought with incredible courage until the very end. In fact, many people never realized the magnitude of the battle he was facing because his light shined so brightly. Throughout his five-year cancer journey, our family rallied around the phrase #FightOnFighter. It became more than a hashtag, it became a declaration of hope, resilience, and faith.

Although Jayden's fight on earth has ended, ours continues. We Fight On!

The Jayden Xavier Simmons Fight On Memorial Scholarship honors his legacy by investing in future healthcare professionals who have a heart for serving children. Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing careers in medicine, with a special emphasis on pediatrics and pediatric oncology. Our prayer is that each recipient will carry forward Jayden's compassion, courage, and unwavering spirit, becoming a light for children and families facing some of life's hardest battles.

When you support this scholarship, you are doing more than funding an education—you are helping ensure that Jayden's legacy of hope, joy, and fighting spirit continues to impact lives for generations to come.
