How to Donate
Why not invest your money and community resources to continue the educational excellence of Lewisville ISD schools by contributing to the Lewisville Education Foundation. By doing so you will become part of a community organization committed to achieving excellence in our schools. The Foundation has been designated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by the IRS. Donations made to the foundation are tax deductible as defined by the IRS Revenue Code.
General Donation: Donations are received from individuals, businesses and foundations. Donors may designate to a specific endowment fund or program and are often given in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one. Donations may be made by check or in cash.
Friend of LEF: Donors making a $1,000 donation to LEF's general fund are recognized as a Friend of Education with a special leaf on the Foundation's Giving Tree, located outside the Lewisville ISD Board Room in the Bolin Building . LEF General Funds may be placed in a general administrative endowment or used for program and administrative purposes as designated by the Board of Directors.
Endowments: Beginning with the establishment of the Foundation there has been a focused effort to create endowments in order to fund programs.
Term Endowment Donor: Donors agree to donate at least $500 per year for a period of 5 years in a donor selected program area. Term Endowments may be renewed. They may also be designated for a specific program.
Full Endowment Donor: $10,000 donation assures perpetuity of an annual award of at least $500 in a donor selected program area. The endowment principal is left in perpetuity (only the interest earned is paid out) and provides a secure source of program funding.
Endowments may be made as:
Memorials: Establishing a Memorial Endowment in remembrance of a loved one or friend is a permanent way to recognize their life. Your gift not only pays tribute to the deceased but also establishes a gift to the continued educational excellence of the Lewisville ISD through the established programs of the Foundation.
Honorariums: What better way to pay tribute and say thank you to a colleague, friend, community leader, or family member than by establishing an Honorarium Endowment to recognize their contribution to the community or district. As with a memorial this gift not only recognizes the honoree but also establishes a gift to the continued educational excellence of the Lewisville ISD through the established programs of the Foundation.
For both Memorial and Honorarium endowments the family or honoree will receive an acknowledgement of the gift and donor without including the amount of the gift. The Foundation will send you a receipt for your records.
Matched Giving: You may want to check with your employer or your spouse's employer to see if they have a gift matching program that can frequently double all or a portion of your gift. For further details contact your Human Resources or Benefits Department for details.
Planned Giving: Persons interested in planned giving should consider memorial gifts, tributes, trusts, life insurance or other options recommended by your estate planner. For further information, contact your estate planner or the Foundation at 972/353-4967 or by email .
In-Kind Donation: Gifts of services or products to the Foundation. Please contact the Foundation if you are interested in this type of gift.
